New Urban Research Network

New Urban Research Network

The Urban Environments Initiative (UEI) was launched in October 2019 as a collaborative venture between the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), the Technische Universität München (TUM), the University of Cambridge, and New York University.

It will be coordinated in Munich by Eveline Dürr (LMU) and Regine Keller (TUM) and
supported by administrative staff based at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society located in Munich, Germany. The UEI aims to bring together researchers working on urban environmental issues and related topics.

“Spaces of Living in Transformation”

Building on the success of last October’s workshop entitled “Urban Environments: International Perspectives,” the UEI’s inaugural workshop, “Spaces of Living in Transformation” will take place virtually in June 2020.

The workshop will bring together scholars from the initiative’s member institutions as well as other urban scholars to explore two sites of recent and ongoing urban transformation.

More information regarding the workshop will be available shortly can be found here.
